Where a tutor's time actually goes

Six lessons taught, and the evening went somewhere else. Here are the three places it leaks — and what stands there instead.

  • Prep until midnight

Materials are scattered across folders, PDFs and chats. Every lesson gets built from scratch, and digging out last year's handout still isn't faster than making a new one.

A lesson is assembled from ready-made templates and stays yours: the next student gets a full copy of it, structure included.

  • The first ten minutes of the lesson

Share the screen, paste a link in the chat, «can you hear me». A student drifts off or gets stuck — and you won't know until you ask.

A lesson room with a built-in call: the student opens it in a browser, and you see in real time who is solving what.

  • Homework buried in a chat

Tasks and answers sink into the messenger. Who submitted, who didn't, whom you already sent corrections to — you hold it all in your head.

Homework goes out from the same material and comes back with a status: submitted, needs work, not started. Notes live on the exercise itself.

Materials

A lesson starts from templates, not a blank page

A builder where a task isn't a picture but a live exercise: the student answers inside it, and the checking happens on its own.

  • Ready-made exercise templates

Three kinds of gap-fill, quizzes, matching pairs, ordering, word building, labelling pictures, listening, essays, voice recording, interactive video.

  • The AI builds a whole material

Describe the topic and the level — the assistant assembles lessons and exercises, not one sample to look at.

  • Video inside the lesson

A clip from YouTube, VK or RuTube plays inside the task — no need to send the student to another site.

  • Materials live apart from classes

One collection is linked to different students, while answers and progress stay separate for each of them.

The lesson

You can see every student — while the lesson is running

The lesson room is the board, the call and the students' answers on one screen. Nothing to share, nowhere to go.

  • Live answer statuses

Who is answering now, who is stuck, who has already finished — visible without asking out loud.

  • The call is inside the lesson

Audio and video are built into the room: no Zoom, no separate links, no «join the other one».

  • Shared video and boards

Play and pause land for everyone at once — you are watching the same frame, not each your own.

  • Demo view

Your lesson through the student's eyes in one click: exactly what they will see, before the lesson starts.

Homework

Tasks and answers stop living in a messenger

Homework goes out from the same material as the lesson and comes back to the same place — with a status and a place for your notes.

  • Two moves to assign

Tick the exercises and they are with the student. No separate file to assemble.

  • Checks itself

Gaps, pairs, choices and ordering are checked by the platform; what's left for you is what needs a human.

  • A status instead of memory

Submitted, needs work, not started — the list itself shows who to come back to.

  • Notes on the exercise

The conversation happens on the task itself, so nobody asks «which exercise was that about» any more.

Students

A student needs a browser and an email — that's all

No install, no subscription, no card. The student account is free and doesn't depend on what you have paid for.

  • Invite by email

Add a student by address — they get a link and sign in. Google works too.

  • Laptop or tablet

The lesson opens in a browser: nothing to install and no settings to work out.

  • A note about the student

What hurts, what we're preparing for, what you agreed on — next to the student, not in a separate notebook.

  • Progress per student

What's covered, what's submitted, where they're stuck — per student, not for the class as a whole.

Schedule

The whole week at a glance

Lessons go into the schedule, and recurring ones go in as a series — so you don't enter the same Thursday forty times.

  • Series by weekday

«Tuesday and Thursday at 18:00» is entered once and then runs on its own.

  • One-to-one, group or marathon

The same workspace — only the number of people walking the same programme with you changes.

  • The lesson knows where it came from

The header shows which collection the material came from, so you don't have to look for it again.

Vocabulary

A word from the lesson lands in the student's vocabulary

Highlight a word in class and it is in the student's vocabulary with its translation. From there a trainer teaches it, not willpower.

  • Spaced repetition

The trainer decides itself which word to show today and which one in a week.

  • Several modes

Flashcards, pick the translation, build the word, say the word — the same word from different sides.

  • A picture for the word

An illustration can be drawn for a word, so it sticks through an image rather than through the translation.

  • Translation direction

The «word → translation» pair is set in the profile: it can be learned both ways.

Your language

Built for the language you teach

The exercise templates aren't tied to a language — they work the same for Spanish and for history. But where a language needs something of its own, we have it.

  • English

The irregular-verb reference opens inside the lesson: 163 verbs, three forms, a translation and a search — the student doesn't leave for another tab.

  • Chinese

Pinyin above the characters, spaces between words and a switch from simplified to traditional — right in the lesson's text, with nothing to mark up. Tap a word for a card with its reading, HSK level and translation.

  • Any other

Strict diacritics are switched on per class: «estas» and «estás» stop counting as the same answer.

Getting found

Your own page and enquiries — without a developer

A tutor page is assembled from blocks and published at a link. Enquiries arrive in your workspace, not in your DMs or inbox.

  • A block builder

About me, kinds of courses, reviews, a sign-up form — built without markup and without a domain.

  • A public link

An address like langlisto.com/teachers/your-name can go in a profile bio or an advert.

  • Enquiries in one place

A name, a contact and what the person wrote — as a list in your workspace, not across three messengers.

Moving in

Don't build your library twice

Already teaching on another platform — we'll carry it over. That's on us, not on your evening after lessons.

  • Materials and their structure

Collections, lessons and exercises arrive in the same order they were in.

  • Student progress

What's been covered isn't reset: the student carries on from where they stopped.

  • We help at every step

Tell us where you're moving from — we'll look and name the timing before you start anything.

Questions

One more thing

  • What does it cost after the free period?

First month free. No card required. The full platform for one teacher. Unlimited students with no per-student fee. AI helps you prepare lessons. A free allowance is included; extra usage is paid separately.

  • What does a student need in order to study?

To create a free account once, by email or with Google. After that they open the lesson in a browser — on a laptop or a tablet, with nothing to install.

  • Is there a limit on the number of students?

No. The «Tutor» plan doesn't count students and doesn't charge per seat — neither in lessons nor in courses and marathons.

  • Does it work if I don't teach a language?

Yes. The exercise templates aren't tied to a subject: gaps, matching, ordering, pictures, audio and video work for maths and for history too. Language teachers additionally get the student vocabulary and the word trainer.

  • Do I need Zoom or another service for the call?

No, the call is built into the lesson room. The student joins by the same link as the lesson — there is no separate meeting to create.

  • Can I run groups and marathons, not just one-to-one?

Yes, in the same workspace. One-to-one lessons, groups and marathons with a stream of students live side by side and don't need a separate plan.
